Dr. Tom Benson is Chief Executive Officer and a Director of Lithium Africa. A volcanologist and globally recognized lithium exploration geologist, he previously served as Vice President of Global Exploration at Lithium Argentina and earlier at Lithium Americas. In those roles, he led corporate exploration strategy to define some of the largest lithium deposits in the world — including Caucharí-Olaroz and Thacker Pass, now the largest measured lithium resource on the planet. Dr. Benson has served as a Director and Geological Advisor of Lithium Africa since 2023, bringing deep technical expertise in lithium deposit exploration and portfolio growth to his leadership of the Company. He holds a Ph.D. from Stanford University and a Bachelor’s degree in Earth and Planetary Sciences from Harvard University.

Dr. Rachel Hampton leads Lithium Africa’s exploration programs, pairing rigorous geological studies with cutting-edge techniques to drive discovery across the Company’s continent-scale portfolio. A field geologist and machine-learning specialist, she joined Lithium Africa from KoBold Metals, the AI-driven critical minerals exploration company, where she served as Lithium Exploration Geologist. Previously at Lithium Americas, she helped lead exploration across projects in Nevada and Argentina — including the landmark Thacker Pass project — and pioneered machine-learning algorithms to improve lithium exploration. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Oregon and a Bachelor’s in Earth and Planetary Sciences from Harvard University.

Mavuwa Tavashavira spearheads Lithium Africa’s exploration across Zimbabwe and South Africa. He currently oversees the exploration program at the Springbok Project in South Africa and leads greenfield and due diligence programs across the continent. He brings 25 years of experience in mineral resource development across a broad range of commodities and jurisdictions, and holds a BSc from the University of Zimbabwe and a Master’s in Exploration Geology from Rhodes University.

Sory Sidibé leads Lithium Africa’s exploration across Côte d’Ivoire, Mali, and Guinea. He specializes in structural and generative geology, applying innovative exploration methods to drive greenfield and brownfield projects while managing permitting, licensing, and compliance. He brings over 15 years of experience managing complex lithium, gold, and REE projects, notably with Barrick and Randgold.

Dr. Jeroen van Duijvenbode holds a Ph.D. in geometallurgy, established his reputation through geochemical and mineralogical material fingerprinting research. He currently specializes in lithium pegmatite exploration targeting, GIS data compilation, programming, and geochemical data interpretation.

Chris O’Connor is an English-qualified lawyer with over 20 years of private practice & in-house experience, focused on capital markets, corporate finance and M&A transactions in emerging markets throughout Africa, Eastern Europe and the CIS.

Jacques Cormack is an African mining executive with experience spanning project evaluation, development, and operations across multiple jurisdictions. His background includes work across asset review, permitting, mine development, and in-country execution, bringing practical operating perspective to Lithium Africa’s expanding exploration portfolio.

Mr. Jamie Robinson is qualified as a Chartered Accountant while working at Deloitte, Vancouver, before beginning his career consulting as CFO to a variety of Mining Companies.
