Dr. Rachel Hampton leads Lithium Africa’s exploration programs, pairing rigorous geological studies with cutting-edge techniques to drive discovery across the Company’s continent-scale portfolio. A field geologist and machine-learning specialist, she joined Lithium Africa from KoBold Metals, the AI-driven critical minerals exploration company, where she served as Lithium Exploration Geologist. Previously at Lithium Americas, she helped lead exploration across projects in Nevada and Argentina — including the landmark Thacker Pass project — and pioneered machine-learning algorithms to improve lithium exploration. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Oregon and a Bachelor’s in Earth and Planetary Sciences from Harvard University.
